Boston Properties' Vice President Named to Boma/NY Board of Directors

BOSTON, MA, November 9, 1999 - Boston Properties, Inc. (NYSE:BXP), a real estate investment trust, is pleased to announce that Thomas L. Hill, Vice President of Property Management for the New York Regional Office, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Building Owners' and Managers' Association of Greater New York, Inc. (BOMA/NY). As a Director, Mr. Hill will be responsible for setting policy and making decisions affecting the fiscal structure and program diversification for the Association. His term will begin January 1, 2000 and expire December 31, 2002.

At Boston Properties, Mr. Hill is responsible for overseeing property management and tenant relations for the Class A office buildings that the Company owns and manages in New York City, including 599 Lexington Avenue, 280 Park Avenue and 875 Third Avenue. In addition, he will be responsible for property management and tenant relations for 5 Times Square, which is 100% leased to Ernst & Young, when it is completed in 2002.

BOMA represents the commercial real estate industry's interests, monitors legislation and regulations, and lobbies on behalf of the industry.
